Maternal Anxieties
This body of work explores the human form through the lens of motherhood, focusing on the evolving connection between mother and son. It reflects on how our experiences—both emotional and physical—are embodied, and how our identities shift over time. These works consider personal growth, insecurity, and transformation: who we are, who we’ve been, and who we are becoming.
The images begin as digital collages and are then layered with paint and thread. These tactile additions emphasize the complexity and vulnerability of being human. The threads serve as metaphors for the invisible ties that bind us—messy, fragile, and deeply connective.
I am especially grateful to my son, who has been my constant companion and greatest teacher during the early years of his life.
